Installing MP3 Cutter
Download MP3 Cutter from the MP3 Cutter page and run the .exe — it's a standalone application, so there's nothing else to install. Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen warning, since the executable isn't code-signed yet. Click "More info", then "Run anyway" to continue. This is expected and doesn't affect how the app works.
Opening a file
Click "Open MP3" and choose the track you want to trim. Once it loads, MP3 Cutter shows the filename and exact duration right in the Audio File panel.
Setting your start and end points
Type a start and end time directly into the Start and End fields, using either MM:SS or MM:SS.mmm format. Or, play the track with the Playback controls and click "Set Start" / "Set End" at the exact moments you want — both fields update from the current playback position.
Previewing before you save
Click "Preview Selection" to play back just the range you've marked. This lets you confirm the cut sounds right before committing to it — adjust your Start or End values and preview again as many times as you like.
Cutting and saving
Once you're happy with the selection, click "Cut & Save". MP3 Cutter encodes the trimmed range with the libmp3lame encoder at high-quality VBR and saves it as a new file next to your original, which is never modified. A confirmation dialog shows you the exact path the new file was saved to.
Troubleshooting
SmartScreen warning on launch: expected for now, since the .exe isn't code-signed yet — see the installation step above.
"Invalid time" or similar error when cutting: MP3 Cutter checks your Start and End values before cutting. Make sure the format is MM:SS or MM:SS.mmm, that Start comes before End, and that End doesn't go past the file's total duration.
Can't find my trimmed file: check the confirmation dialog shown right after a successful cut — it displays the full path the new file was saved to, right next to your original.
